This module covers background to the requirements of the International Residential Code’s Section R602.10, Wall Bracing. Changes to requirements in the code editions for bracing of walls over the last 30 years is discussed. The module discusses the effects of wind and seismic forces on a single-family home as well as stepping through the details of how a wall bracing panel resists a wind load.
