AC24 establishes guidelines for evaluation of exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS). Equivalent systems can also be considered with proper justification, provided they minimally include exterior coating, insulation and nonmetallic reinforcement, and that they are primarily confined to exterior wall surfaces.
