This webinar provides an explanation of the 2015 International Building Code® (IBC®) scoping requirements for recreational facilities and the specific technical criteria in the new recreation chapter in ICC A117.1-2003 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities (ICC A117.1). This discussion will further your understanding of where and what accessibility requirements are applicable to the many types of recreational facilities. Specific technical requirements for pools, playgrounds, amusement rides, recreational boating and fishing, exercise equipment, golf, miniature golf and shooting facilities will be addressed. There will also be a brief overview of accessibility requirements for related supporting services including lawn and bleacher seating, concession and ticket windows, locker rooms and family/assisted use bathing and toilet rooms.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE: This course is best suited for participants who:
  • Have some knowledge of model codes and their application.
  • Know basic construction terminology, techniques, methods and materials.
  • Know how to read basic construction documents.
