Some buildings have a high level of hazards that may affect people inside and outside the building, as well as the emergency responders. This interactive online course teaches you about the International Building Code and how its used to regulate building occupancy and hazards. You will learn about the code adoption process and how the code is enforced through the review of construction plans and the inspection of the work. You will also learn about the differences between the types of construction and how they are addressed in the design of a building. This course will outline the process to determine the size of buildings based on the occupancy classification and type of construction.
